Daniel Negreanu won his 11th PokerGO Tour tournament on Friday — his second this year — and he did so in comeback fashion.

The GGPoker ambassador, like he did last year, is off to a strong start in high rollers prior to World Series of Poker (WSOP) action. He took down PGT PLO Series Event #3: $5,100 Pot-Limit Omaha, beating out 159 entrants to win $182,850 at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas.

Poker Legend Does it Again

Negreanu, following Day 1 action on Thursday, held the chip lead heading into the final table. But his advantage over Xiaoxiao Song and Bryce Yockey wasn't significant.

That would eventually change during the final session, a table that wasn't dominated initially by the Poker Hall of Famer. Song would, however, take the early lead, a lead he held for a while before Yockey, who ran poorly at the final table, busted in sixth place ($39,750). Song then fell on hard times and busted in fifth place ($47,700) to James Chen, who took over the chip lead.

Chen would increase his chip lead after busting Eric Blair in fourth place ($59,625). Dylan Weisman became Chen's next victim in third place ($79,500), which led to a heads-up match that appeared would be one-sided with Chen leading 5-1 in chips.

Negreanu quickly started chipping up, and then he earned a full double-up with aces against kings. All of a sudden the chip stacks were nearly identical. Chen, who has over $11 million in live tournament cashes, according to The Hendon Mob, would battle, but the cards didn't fall his way. The match would end with Negreanu, who had taken over a massive chip lead, hitting a set of kings to finish off the tournament. Chen received $115,275 for his second place finish.

Negreanu won his second PGT event this month, and he did so in an opposite manner. The seven-time WSOP bracelet winner had nearly all the chips in play deep in his early March victory — $15,100 Dealer's Choice — before nearly losing. This time around, he came from behind to pull off the win, which brought him to over $55.3 million in live tournament cashes.

The PGT PLO Series, which features 11 pot-limit Omaha events, continued on Friday with Day 1 of Event #4: $10,100 Pot-Limit Omaha. The final table will air at 1 p.m. Saturday on PokerGO.
