The 888poker UKPL Reading Main Event saw 334 entrants create a £158,650 prize pool that the top 48 finishers shared. Jack Hardcastle, 888poker Stream Team members Nick Eastwood and Josh Manley, 888poker ambassador Ian Simpson, and top grinder Robert Douras were among those in-the-money finishers.
£4,000 was the least anyone could take home once they'd reached the eight-handed final table. Robin Gue settled for that sum when his ace-king lost to ace-queen, then the rest of his stack went in with king-four, which ran into pocket queens. Gue won this event in 2024 so reaching back-to-back final tables is some achievement.
Jose Collaza was the next to fall, the last of his chips going into the middle with king-three and losing to the pocket fours in Tim Ebenezer's hand. Seventh place came with £5,120 in prize money.

Ebenezer then claimed Ian Burr's tournament life when his pocket sixes held against Burr's jack-ten, leaving Burr to collect £7,000, the largest haul of his live career.
The dangerous Callum Gordon was down to a single big blind at one stage but managed to spin up his stack. However, any chip and a chair headlines had to be put on hold when Gordon shoved for ten big blinds with queen-jack, and Gareth Magee called with ace-king. Gordon couldn't get there, and he made his way to the cashier's desk to collect a £9,000 payout.
Another short-stack shove, this time one worth seven big blinds from Yi Gu, resulted in another player falling by the wayside. Gu chose ace-seven to move all-in with. Wilson called with king-ten, flopped a ten, and Gu was gone. He claimed a £12,500 prize on top of the £8,768 he scooped for his victory in the £250 Opening Voyage earlier in the week.
Wilson sent the UKPL Reading Main Event into the heads-up stage when his ace-nine prevailed against Magee's lowly jack-four. The £16,500 Magee won more than quadrupled his total live earnings.
Wilson captured the title soon after when he flopped a jack with queen-jack to best Ebenezer's king-ten. Ebenezer's £22,500 score was bar far his best-ever result, while the £30,000 that Wilson won represents his third-largest haul.
Jack Hardcastle found himself in the winner's circle once again, this time after taking down the £1,100 High Roller. Hardcastle outlasted 52 opponents on his way to collecting a £17,620 payday.
