The first-ever $100,000 Super High Roller Bowl Mixed Games kicked off on Thursday at PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas. The tournament, which followed the conclusion of the PokerGO Tour Mixed Games Series in which Chino Rheem finished atop the leaderboard for the second time in three years, attracted 25 entrants on Day 1 with late registration open until the start of Day 2.

After eight levels of play, 17 players bagged with Mike "Texas Mike" Moncek and his stack of 1,438,000 leading the way. That is a good bit ahead of Daniel Negreanu, who sits in second with 819,000, while Matthew Ashton (781,000), Benny Glaser (780,000), and John Racener (554,000) round out the top five.

Negreanu got a late-night boost when he doubled through Yuri Dzivielevski in a round of pot-limit Omaha. With a board reading Q1054and around 160,000 in the middle, Dzivielevski checked and Negreanu bet 60,000 from the under-the-gun position. Dzivielevski woke up with an all-in check-raise and Negreanu called off for 137,000 with the K6K4flush. It was good as Dzivielevski had been representing the ace-high flush with the AA52.

Daniel Negreanu Steamrolls PGT Mixed Game Final Table for Convincing Win

Among those to fall on Day 1 were Nick Schulman, Albert Daher, Dzivielevski, Samuel Sternfield, and John Hennigan, who recently wrote an op-ed for PokerNewsadvocating for Ted Forrest to be inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame. All of those players can reenter if they so choose, as a trio of Day 1 bustouts opted to do in Philip Sternheimer, Talal Shakerchi, and Johannes Becker.

Speaking of Shakerchi, his elimination before reentering was also a decisive hand for Texas Mike. According to live updates from the tournament, it took place in a round of pot-limit Omaha when Daher raised to 15,000 under the gun only to have Moncek three-bet to 52,500 from the cutoff.

Shakerchi called from the small blind, Daher put in the additional chips, and the flop came down 4Q10. Shakerchi bet 167,500 – the size of the pot – and Daher repotted before Moncek reraised to put himself all in for 571,500. Shakerchi called off for 234,500 and Daher, who had the biggest stack, called to put his two opponents at risk.

Albert Daher: KQ95
Mike Moncek: J986

Everyone had a piece of the flop, with Moncek holding a wrap. The 8turn gave him the straight and the 7river was a brick to give Moncek a pot of over 1.5 million. Meanwhile, Daher was left with 173,000 while Shakerchi headed to the cage to reenter.

Late registration open until the start of Day 2 at 1 p.m. PT on Friday, March 7. PokerGO will be livestreaming the action all day long. The prize pool currently sits at $2.5 million but is sure to grow a bit.
